Mr Kev Irle – President
Kev is a registered psychologist currently in private practice. He has a bachelor of Social Science majoring in Counselling, Honours in Psychology, and a Graduate Diploma in Psychology. He has experience working with clients from ‘all walks of life’ with a full range of mental health issues. Kev’s hobbies include laughing loudly, music, cycling, and generally enjoying the bizarreness of life.
Mr Jeff Davies – Vice President
Jeff has a Bachelor degree in Applied Science (Psychology) and a Grad Dip (Applied Psychology). He has worked for Endeavour Foundation, Skillshare/SkillCentre, Red Cross, Choice Support Service and Probation and Parole. He has previously served on management committees for Jobmatch and Avenues. Jeff and his partner share an interest in bike riding. Having previously participated in triathlons, he now mainly rides for fitness and enjoyment and plans to ride mountain-bikes in New Zealand. His goal is to enter private practice, work part-time and ride more.
Ms Abbie Grant-Taylor – Secretary
Abbie has recently retired from a career spanning over 25 years with the Australian Government, the last ten or so with funded youth programs. Abbie has wide experience in a range of government programs including youth programs and policy, employment, recruitment, skills development, disability services, youth homelessness, action research and contract management. In her spare time she can be found with her horses. Abbie is a board member of the Bicentennial National Trail. Abbie holds a Masters degree in Social Policy and Planning.
Ms Rae Gâté – Treasurer
Rae is a Sales Consultant with Gympie Regional Realty, after working for the past eight years as a Councillor in the Gympie Regional Council in the Social Wellbeing portfolio. Rae is a life time local who has a passion for the community and in her own time is not only involved with Community Action Inc, but also serves as Treasurer for Gympie Community Place , Secretary/Director for Gympie and District Community Bank (Bendigo Bank), Coolarts Management Committee and JKS-Australia (karate) Management Committee.
Ms Ann Rigbye – Board Member
Ann graduated from UQ in 1973 with a Bachelor of Social Work. Ann’s career includes working at the Maryborough Base, Royal Brisbane and Prince Charles hospitals and then joined the Department of Social Security in 1984 (now Department of Human Services – Centrelink). Ann has been based at the Gympie office since 1988 and has always maintained a close affiliation with the community sector. Ann has served on the management boards of Cooloola Youth Service, Erin House, MINS (Multicultural Information Network Service), Cooloola Family and Community Development and has chaired the Cooloola Human Services Network.
Mr Clacy Fatnowna – Board Member
Clacy is currently the Practice Manager for Gympie Eye Centre and prior to this was self-employed (2013-2015). He was a paramedic from 1988 to 1998 and then was promoted to Officer in Charge Queensland Ambulance Service Mackay (1998 to 2012). Clacy is a past member of Mackay West Rotary Club and served as President and Treasurer for Mackay & District Australian South Sea Islander Association. He currently holds a Diploma in Business (Management) and an Associative Diploma Applied Science (Ambulance).
Mr Andy Nethercott – Board Member
Andy works in the Foster Care industry, providing support to many of the valued Foster Carers in Gympie and the surrounding area. Andy has previously worked for Department of Communities in both Child Safety as well as Disability Services. Andy has also worked in Disability Support, Disability Employment, and Mainstream Employment positions in the Gympie Area. Andy has a Bachelor of Human Services and is passionate about supporting vulnerable and disadvantaged individuals and groups.
